Fw: R' Shmuel Mohilever, Bialystok #poland

Edna Hoover

I am looking for detailed information on the family of Reb Shmuel
Mohilever who apparently travelled back and forth between Palestine and
Bialystok in the late 1800's. He was Rabbi of Bialystok in 1883 and is
listed as the founder of Religious Zionism in the Jewish Encyclopedia.
There are burial records for several Mohilever family members in the
Safed Cemetery Online Records, but I have no idea how they're connected.

The Department for Jewish Zionist Education, Israel & Zionism, lists:

Mohilever, Samuel (1824-1898) Rabbi in Poland and one of the founders of
religious Zionism. His grandson, Josef Mohilever, followed in his
grandfather's footsteps. Having received a traditional Jewish and Zionist
education, he was also active in Zionist groups and was a
government-appointed rabbi. He moved to Palestine in 1920 and settled in
Jerusalem where he was deputy head of the Teachers Seminary and then head
of the Hebrew High School.

He appears on our Haimson-Latterhaus family tree:

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.
