The following message was posted as an alert. I do not want to get back to
all sorts of mail on virus programmes. Suffice it to say that we should all
have excellent virus programmes installed such as McAfee or Norton
Antivirus. It is very important to see that you update your virus
definitions regularly. Many users think that once they have a virus
programme installed all will be well and fail to recognise that new viruses
are appearing daily.

A new virus called W32/ProLin@MM is a high risk Internet virus that is
received via email in the form:
Subject: A great Shockwave flash movie
Body: Check out this new flash movie that I downloaded just now ... It's
The infected email can come >from addresses that you recognize. Attached is a
file named CREATIVE.EXE that carries the icon of a Shockwave Media Player
application. However it is not a Shockwave Media Player application and it
will alter files on your hard disk Subsequently, the virus sends a copy of
itself to everyone in your email address book.
Anyone who receives a message "A great Shockwave flash movie" or a message
with the attachment "creative.exe" should not open the message and delete
the message (and empty the trash) immediately.
