Bialystoker Yahrzeit Cards #poland


With the cooperation of the Bialystok Center and Home for
the Aged in New York, BIALYGen has been indexing the
Center's collection of about 5,000 Yahrzeit cards. This
project is explained at

Through the dedicated work of Sid Zabludoff, Kathryn
Wallach, and many other volunteers, this project will be
completed before the Conference in New York. The results
will be available in the Resource Room at the Conference.
The Excel index will be available for searching. Each index
entry contains the following data:

Name of Deceased -- surname and given name
Date of Death
Hebrew Name
Hebrew Name of Father
Other Surnames (those to be notified of Yahrzeit)
Country/State of Notifications

Also, a CD of the images of all 5,000 cards will be
available at the Resource Room. We hope that the images on
this CD will be available to Conference attendees and can be

After the Conference, the database will be contributed to
JewishGen and will soon be searchable online. BIALYGen will
then develop a process to make the images available to
