Places of domicile #poland

Dear Researchers,

In some of the documents I got, dated >from the second
half of the 19th century, I find different
expressions referring to the domicile of a person.

1. I wish to know what is the difference in legal
status between:

Staly mieszkaniec [Lodzu] and
tu w [Lodzu] zamieszkali

As I currently understand it, the former seems to
mean having permanent residence rights in [Lodz], although
actually living someplace else, whereas the latter
means actually living in [Lodz] but of no permanent
residence rights there, while having such rights
elsewhere. Is that so?

2. What did it mean having permanent residence rights
in those days?

Please reply to my e-address
