Re: Research Books #poland

The BIALYGen website has a Publications section at
http://www.shtetlinks.jewishgen.org/BialyGen/Publications.htm. The most
important book concerning the Jewish history of Bialystok is Herschberg,
Abraham Samuel (1858-1940): Pinkos Bialystok, Volume 1-1949: Volume 2-1950,
which is now a JewishGen Yizkor Book translation project. See
http://www.jewishgen.org/Yizkor/Bialystok/Bialystok.html.

Each volume of this definitive history of the Jewish Community of Bialystok
from its beginnings through to the period before World War II has a Index of
Names. The transliteration of these two indexes has been completed and will
be online shortly.

Anyone wishing to help with this project is welcome to contribute at
http://www.jewishgen.org/JewishGen-erosity/v_projectslist.asp?project_cat=23.
Donors can designate their contribution to a specific Chapter or Section by
notifying me at bialystoker@comcast.net of your contribution and the Volume,
Chapter, and Section to apply your contribution.
