Who would have thought.... #lithuania

... that "worms" eat computers... <grin> There is indeed some truth to
the old adage of what can happen when one opens up a "can of worms". Providing one solution creates a "lineage" of newly defined challenges! As you are well aware, JewishGen has been experiencing of late a steady stream of "technical difficulties" which affected at one time or another all of JewishGen's services. We are confident that we have almost "capped this can" and resolved all of the issues with the assistance of some specific patches, more advanced software applications to handle the growth and a tremendous amount of expert technical assistance without which we could have been down for extended periods of time. As is often the case with volunteer-powered non-profit organizations, these were new additions for which we had not budgeted. Please help to keep JewishGen on-line by going to (http://www.jewishgen.org/jewishgen-erosity/) and making a gift to JewishGen. It is donors like you who allow JewishGen to grow at the speed we ALL enjoy as users. Our goal is to raise between $7,500-$10,000 by August 15, 2001 to help cover these costs. The specific list of expenses for for which we have been billed thus far are outlined on the JewishGen WishList. (http://www.jewishgen.org/cgi-bin/wish.pl/Search?) We, unfortunately, are expecting more! <grin> Thank you, in advance, for whatever amount you are able to contribute at this time. Susan E. King President and Founder JewishGen, Inc. |
