I have found that several of the families I am researching moved from
Vilna to Berlin in the 1860s-1870s. Was moving to Germany
a common occurrence?
My G-Grandmother and some of her siblings moved >from Vabalninkas to Berlin
in the 1890s. When they wrote home or to other family members, it was in
German. Was it common to speak German among Lithuanian Jews?
