Lithuanian Poem #lithuania

Sue. Atkinson <suat@...>

Does anyone know the author of this poem, translated >from Hebrew, found
amongst the papers of an emigrant Lithuanian?

"On the side of the road she wallows
A rose with beautiful eyes
The withering leaf was cast aside
She has been lying here for two days already
She pleads with every passerby
"Please people pity me
Watch your steps lest you touch me
Lest with your feet your trample me
With your hands raise me up
To Eden my garden
To the garden that is cherished by all eyes"
