TRY NOT TO MISS THIS PRESENTATION 20th July - (not 19th as originally
advertised)

This is to remind you, if you have not yet got round to booking
tickets, to do so, for what should be a very interesting and enjoyable
talk.

"JOURNEY TO A NEW LAND" - guest speaker NICK EVANS - part of the
"Closing the Door -Immigrants to Britain 1905-2005" programme.
Wednesday 20th July, 2005 at 7.00 p.m.

The JGSGB is sponsoring a joint event with The Jewish Museum, London on
Wednesday 20th July as part of the above programme. Historian Nick Evans,
draws on his extensive original research, describes the circumstances that
led to four million Eastern European Jews leaving their homes, between 1881
and 1914, and the challenges that faced them on their arduous journey
across Europe in the hope of building a better life.

Many of you who attended the London Conference of the International
Jewish Genealogical Society in 2001 will remember that Nick Evans gave an
outstanding presentation on transmigration. He is in great demand as a
speaker and justifyably so.
