Not the surname but the meaning - How do you know if you are a cohen? (as in of the priestly people??) My husband's family is of them and at funerals the men of the direct line must sit apart >from the rest of us at funerals. Can anyone explain this to me and how it has come about and why modern families still adhere to it? My family just sticks to it but when I have asked for the way they know this they cannot tell me. cheers and thanks
