It is with great sadness that we have just learned that Richard Winer,
Coordinator of the LitvakSIG Ukmerge District Research Group, passed away
July 17th as a result of a fall and subsequent stroke.

Richard spent many happy years researching his family, helping Ukmerge
contributors, attending local genealogy meetings in Boston and the annual
IAJGS conferences and spending time with the many people he met through his
dedication to LitvakSIG.

We will all miss his ever cheerful disposition, his understanding and his
friendship. He was truly a gentle man.
