2010 LitvakSIG Dues Reminder #lithuania

Dear LitvakSIG Digest Subscribers:

This is an invitation for subscribers who are not now LitvakSIG members or
are past members to consider joining LitvakSIG in 2010.

Dues are payable on a calendar year basis: >from January 1 through December
31 and are separate >from donations to specific translation projects.

You may pay your dues by going to our website: www.litvaksig.org or paying
by mail. Just click on "Join LitvakSIG" on the column to the left of the
site. Dues remain the same at the rate of $36. The form is self-explanatory
and also provides information on payment by mail. Here is the direct link
to the page with the mail-in contribution form with the Treasurer's address:
http://www.litvaksig.org/index.php?option=com_join&view=contribute&Itemid=87

If you are paying by mail, click on the link above and then look at the
bottom of the page for the words "Contribution Form" so you can print out
the form for mailing. The treasurer's address is:

Eden Joachim
Treasurer
LitvakSIG
41 Country Club Lane
Pomona, NY 10970

Please see the FAQs (link on left hand side of our home page) for answers to
questions that may arise.

Only paid members may vote in the July election for new board members, and
only members have access to the members-only website, www.litvaksig.com
where certain data not published elsewhere may be found (i.e., inventories
to available records in some archives). Note that contributions to district
and other projects do not include membership. These are paid separately.

LitvakSIG dues are used to support the operating expenses of the SIG
(special interest group), including regular international telephone
conference call board meetings, professional fees, and for special
activities, such as helping to sponsor Lithuanian archivists or other
special speakers at annual IAJGS conferences and, very importantly,
also for helping to translate selected records.

Separate donations may also be made to a Vital Record Translation
Project, a District Research Group, the Internal Passport Project,
the Kaunas Family List Project or the Research General Fund. Remember:
these projects are separate >from annual membership dues. All donations
to LitvakSIG, Inc. are tax deductible for US residents to the extent
allowable by law. Please consult with your tax advisor.

Thank you for supporting LitvakSIG.

Sincerely,

Eugene Alpert
Membership Chair
