Jonava Yizkor Book Translation #lithuania

Susan Goldsmith

Dear Landsleyt with family >from Jonava (Yaneve), Lithuania,

We are about to add a number of newly translated chapters to
our JewishGen Jonava Yizkor Book site. Our translator is busy at
work, but we need to raise as many more funds as possible so that
we can have him translate additional chapters. The reason is that
he works on a number of Yizkor Book translations and we have to wait
our turn for our next session. But, if we can raise more funds now,
while he is in progress, we can have our current turn extended.

You will see >from visiting the translation at how much progress
we have made.

To see the original text and the numerous photos, go to
You can have part of your screen open to the translation of the text
and photo captions and part open to the NYPL site with the digitized
photos. In fact, if you recognize someone in a photo who is not
identified or not fully identified, please contact me privately.

Please give whatever you can. You may do so online at
and select Jonava.

Please let me know the amount you have kindly given so that I can
thank you and so that I can tell our translator that we have a specific
amount more to fund his work.

Thank you to those who have written to tell me you have found your
family in the Yizkor Book. It is exciting for me as well as for you.

Best Regards,
Susan Goldsmith
