Jonava Lithuania Yizkor Book Translation #lithuania
Dear Landsleyt with family >from Jonava (Yaneve), Lithuania,
I am writing to ask you to please consider a donation to our project
to translate the Jonava Yizkor Book into English >from Hebrew and Yiddish.
You may want to share the translation so far and the photos with your
families during Pesach. Perhaps you know a family member who would also
consider a donation.
You will see >from visiting the translation at
http://www.jewishgen.org/yizkor/jonava/jonava.html how much progress
we have made.
To see the original text and the numerous photos, go to
http://www.nypl.org/research/chss/jws/yizkorbooksall.cfm You can have
part of your screen open to the translation of the text and photo captions
and part open to the NYPL site with the digitized photos. In fact, if you
recognize someone in a photo who is not identified or not fully identified
in the translation, please contact me.
Please give whatever you can. You may do so online at
and select Jonava.
Please let me know the amount you have kindly given so that I can
thank you and so that I can tell our translator that we have a specific
amount more to fund his work.
Thank you to those who have written to tell me you have found your
family in the Yizkor Book. It is exciting for me as well as for you.
