Regarded by many as one of the great masterpieces of Holocaust literature,
"Scrolls of Testimony" took over ten years to research and write. The English
translation was a monumental effort accomplished by Dr. Edward Levenston,
former professor of English linguistics at the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem.
The haunting paintings are by Samuel Bak, who, like Kovner, is a survivor
of the Vilna Ghetto.
