Thank you Ellen Mains for your message.
I, too, am looking for documentation of the existence of Holocaust Era and
prior to that, a textile factory in Lodz owned by family Pinczewski. My, Avraham Yitzchok Pinczewski, born in Lodz about 1821 founded
a Textile Factory in his thirties or forties and was a one-time partner with
Posnanski in his venture. Since then, his descendents owned various
factories and the family was quite well known in Lodz. There are records
of some Pinczewskis in Lodz Ghetto lists.

For your information, a group of Lodz Textile factory owners amalgamated in
Holon, Israel, and opened the Lodzia Textile factory. Although I enquired
whether Pinczewski was one of them, the answer was negative.
Perhaps it was because the ones who amalgamated were of the higher income
bracket who survived the holocaust.
Probably the Pinczewski family of Lodz owned a smaller factory and most of
them did not survive.
If we can find access to Business Directories of Lodz, perhaps we might find
something useful and interesting.

Any information will be most appreciated.

Greetings to all, Does anyone know how to document the existence of a
business or factory in Lodz up until the war? My grandfather (Srul
Gedalie Goldblum) owned a children's shoe factory in Lodz and I'd like
to know where it was, what it was called, and any other details I can

I am on my way back to Poland for another visit, but so far, I don't
have a clue how to research this on-line or otherwise. Any knowledge or
suggestions would be most welcome.
