I am seeking information about the KLEIN family of Mitau.
Bernhard and Regina (nee BLUMENFELD, b. 3 Feb 1859) KLEIN had four children:
Martin - born 16 Jan 1890 and died 16 Jun 1977
Moritz - said he was a writer in this country
Leonore - married name was HORWITZ. I do not where she married.
Martina
All four were doctors, escaped the holcaust, but the sisters spent time in a
concentration camp. Martin came to the US >from Berlin in 1936, returned to
Germany in 1937 to Hamburg to help with the disinterment of his uncle and
possibly other family members >from Grindel and the move of the bodies to
Ohlsdorf. He came back to the US in 1937, became naturalized, and set up a
medical practice, mostly handling workers compensation cases >from his office
on 19th St near Broadway in the Garment District of New York. To my
recollection, his brothers and sisters came via Cuba to the US. They lived
at 574 West End Ave near Central Park in Manhattan.
Martin KLEIN is buried in Cedar Park Cemetery.
