great-grandson of the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn's brother Saul
Mendelssohn.
The grandson was Ernst Moritz Mendelssohn who married Elisabeth
Ruprecht and were parents of Kurt Alfred Georg Mendelssohn (7 January
1906 - 18 September 1980) a German-born British medical physicist,
elected a Fellow of the Royal Society
