1. I have received a couple of requests >from people who reference a
project to document Bucharest Jewish Cemeteries. I do not know who was
actively working on this when I got involved with Rom-Sig. If you were, or
if you know anyone who was involved in this project, please contact me with
information. I'd like to be able to resurrect the project or initiate
attempts to do so. If this is of interest to you, please contact me.
2. There is an interesting article I am reading in Tablet, an online
magazine. The author was born in Timisoara in 1948 and speaks of the culture
of that community in his youth. The link is
3. As previously noted, if you find a record >from Iasi that is other than
the cemetery lists, you are welcome to write to me to obtain a photo of the
actual record used to transcribe the record. I will need a copy of the record
as you find it on Jewishgen in order to send it to you. We request a new
donation to the Iasi fund in Jewishgen for this copy. Again, we don't have
any more information on the burial records as they were directly obtained >from
the Jewish community in Iasi, as I understand it, without any images.
