Re: researching ENGERS and FROMMET families from Altona/Hamburg 1816 to 1881 #scandinavia

Dear Howard,
I would suggest that you send the same message to JewishGen's German SIG - someone there might have information for you. I have searched my databases and have not found anyone with the surnames ENGERS or FROMMET. But I only have the 1803 census >from Northern Germany, so that doesn't say very much. You could also write to the general JewishGen mailing list. And I presume you have entered the names in JewishGen Family Finder? ... and written to the others who are researching ENGERS? ... as well perhaps as in Family Tree of the Jewish People? ... and searched the JewishGen and SIG mailing lists archives? ... and/or a search on all the JewishGen webpages ? A search on www.google.com came up with the ENGERS Family Tree - maybe you already know it? But as your Marcus ENGERS and Fanny FROMMET is listed, I would not omit to inform you about it. It might be a good idea to contact the owner of that website. Google.com finds other family trees with ENGERS but I guess you have tried that already. Best regards Elsebeth Paikin, President Jewish Genealogical Society of Denmark: http://www.jewishgen.org/jgs-denmark/ & SIG Coordinator and webmaster: JewishGen's Scandinavia SIG http://www.jewishgen.org/scandinavia/ mailto:elsebeth@...
