(US) Law Library of Congress Hosts Program to Mark 500th Anniversary of Venice Jewish Ghetto #sephardic

The (US) Law Library of Congress with the Embassy of Italy and the
Joseph and Rebecca Meyerhoff Center for Jewish Studies (at the
University of Maryland) will mark the 500th anniversary of the
Jewish Ghetto of Venice in 1516. The program will be on Tuesday,
May 24 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Thomas Jefferson Building 10 First
St.SE Washington DC, The event is free and open to the public.
Reservations are not required.

The program is: "La Città degli Ebrei/The City of the Jews: Segregated
Space and the Admission of Strangers in the Jewish Ghetto of Venice",
with University of Maryland professor of history, Bernard Cooperman
and Stefano Villani. Additionally, The Library of Congress Law
Library will feature rare books and documents related to the Jewish
Ghetto of Venice.
