Re: Research in Aram-Tsova (Haleb) in Syria #sephardic
Jeffrey Levy <jeffrey@...>
I sent David the following email last week privately...
Dear David, 1. On the following page, scroll down to "Syria" and you will see lookups for bris records, marriage records and more. Not all were recorded, but many were. Haleb (Aleppo) was a vilayet consisting of a few areas including Aleppo, Kilis, Anteb and more which many are not recorded in those databases. http://www.sephardicgen.com/databases/databases.html 2. JewishGen has a cemetery database with many of the tombstones >from the Aleppo Cemetery. You can browse them by specifying Aleppo as the city and without putting any names in the name fields. 3. I have much information >from Aleppo in my trees that I have done for myself and others. I also know people that have specialized in some families. If you let me know some names that you are researching, I may be able to help you or point you in the right direction. There are some books with records too. Best wishes, Jeffrey Levy --- From: <sciamma@gmail.com> Date: Fri, 15 Jul 2016 11:24:35 +0300 Following David Nesher's plea and questions about Aram-Suba research possibilities, are there any persons capable of giving us a comprehensive list of research possibilities online or otherwise ? Thgank you David Sciamma(chamma) isaac
