Hello,
I am researching family lines of jews and converses in Alta California,
Baja California Sur, Sonora and Zacatecas. Beginning in the 1700's, it
became fashionable for families to just use one name rather than the
father's name and then the mother's, which made it easier to track
their ancestry. I am stuck on Castro, Lugo, De Cota, Verdugo, Bojorquez
and De Leon families once they traveled >from Mexico proper and began
settling California in the late 1700's.
Any information would be useful.
Sincerely,
Nadene Norr
