The family name Berazano #sephardic

Sheila Toffell

I'm working with a second cousin who lives in Israel determining the origin
of what morphed into Berazanoff in the UK. Our original thought for a very
concrete reason was Spain, but my cousin was told that Berezano is / was a
common last name for both Jewish and non-Jewish Kurdistani's. Our GGfather
apparently originated >from Tbilisi, Georgia but I don't know if that was him
or prior generations who made the move to the Ukraine, where he married our
GGM. In addition my first cousin's (we are daughters of sisters) son had his
mitochondrial DNA tested and it indicated early roots in the Caucasus.

Any insight on this would be appreciated.
