(Portugal) Portugal Approves 10,000 Citizenship Descendants of Sephardic Jews #sephardic

In 2013, Portugal approved granting Portuguese nationality of Portuguese
Sephardic Jews who were expelled >from Portugal d Spain in the 15th century.
The law was approved by Organic Law No 1/2013 of 29 July. The regulation was
approved by DL n. 30_A/2016, 27 February. There are certain requirements

Portugal has approved about a third of approximately 33,000 applications for
citizenship under its 2015 law for descendants of Sephardi Jews, according
to official data. The report did not say how many applications were
declined.

The countries that provided the most applications are Brazil, Israel, Turkey
and Venezuelans.
