Regarding the possibility, as Elsebeth Paikin wrote, that "Hausbes"
might just stand for "hausbesitzer" meaning "owner of house," note
that "Hausbes" appears very infrequently in the listings of residential
properties.
Perhaps, this merely indicates that few homes' owners actually lived in
them. I do not know, but would certainly appreciate hearing >from anyone
with further knowledge of the meaning of the abbreviation "Hausbes" in this
context.
