Kolmanskop is situated in the Namib Desert, inland >from Luderitz Bay in
Namibia and was site of a diamond mine. Many of the surface bhe buildings,
half covered with desert sand are still standing including a rather handsome
concert hall and kitchens which contain ledgers of various purchaces.

Subject: [safrica] GRANT of ADDERLY STREET

In late 1908, my great grandfather, Mr Franz GINSBERG,
MLA, became a director of Kolmanskop Diamond Company,
based in Cape Town. Its shareholders included PC GRANT
and Grant (Broker), both of Adderly Street. The
brokers company could well have been called "Grant,
Grant & Co.".

Does anyone have any information about the Grants or
their activities?

Thanks, and seasons greetings from
