This wake up call is a gentle reminder to those of you who have not yet
booked for the SIG luncheon, or registered for the conference. SA SIG Lunch 26 IAJGS Conference 13-18 Aug.2006 The South Africa SIG luncheon at the 26th IAJGS Conference at the Marriott Hotel, Times Square, New York has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 16th. The guest speaker is Ann Rabinowitz of Miami Beach, probably one of the most knowledgeable and dedicated contributors to the SA SIG. The topic is "Kuposhikers in Africa ". Her story entitled "A Journey to Africa and Beyond - A Few Vignettes" is appropriate as it encapsulates what happened to many families who came to SA. Her SA connection is the Choritz family of Bot Rivier. Those who want to attend MUST register on the Conference Web site. Paying at the door will NOT be an option. Please go to http://www.jgsny2006.org/ for further information about the conference and registering. There will also be a South African resources computer workshop: Roy Ogus and myself ( 1.5 hours) with a general SA SIG business meeting (probably briefly at the lunch)at the conference. So please reserve your places. The last time we did a luncheon, in Jerusalem, over 45 people attended and we could not take any more. Saul Issroff
