Linda, first, you should be aware that there are several towns by the name of Yampol in
Ukraine. One of them is near Kremenets in Volhynia. Records for people registered in that
Yampol appear in the Kremenets vital records. (I know this because some of my ancestors
are >from Yampol). The Kremenets Shtetl CO-OP is translating and indexing those vital
records. We will be posting the results on the JRI-Poland web site. So far, we have
posted a Surname List for the 1870 birth records. You can view this list at
http://www.jewishgen.org/jri-pl/jri-plin.htm. That will take you to the Shtetl CO-OP
Initiative page. Scroll down to Kremenets, and click on the town name. There is more
coming.

I checked the list and there is a Val'f GLEJZIR, born on 29 June 1870 (Gregorian).

While at the Kremenets site, take a look at the various documents describing the
Kremenets Shtetl CO-OP and what we are trying to do. If you wish, I will be happy to add
you to our e-mail distribution list so that you can receive monthly updates on our
progress. Just send me an e-mail message and let me know that you would like to be on our
list..
