STURMAN and KAISERMAN of Teplitz, Belgorod Dnestrovskiy, Odessa #ukraine
I am doing research (and search for the living and for gravesites) on the
family of my grandfather Nathan STURMAN who came to Philadelphia in 1908
>from Transdnistr, (southern Bessarabia), greater Odessa area. Born
Teplitz, Akkerman (Now Belgorod Dnestrovskiy) c late 1870s.
I have a phone number for the Jewish Community of former Akkerman area but
need a Russian speaker to help me talk to them as per instructions from
Ukrain Jewish Federation in Kiev. Will get a friend here to help out.
I have read that the famed Akkerman Fortress was a killing ground
for "Soviet citzens" during the Nazi/Roumanian occupation.
