Dear Jewish Genners,
In response to locating a family member in Israel
(I have cousin Avraham in Tel Aviv, Maybe you know him...?)
Israels Telephone information called "Bezek" is the great source for what
you want to do.
Go to: http://144.bezeq.com/

This is telephone information for Israel.
The spelling is in Hebrew, so go find a friend who has Hebrew Windows as
an OS or
Windows 2000. With Windows 2000 you must the language settings to be
able to type in Hebrew, this is done in Control panel. (I forget exactly
how, call Microsoft for help if you get stuck)

Next pop into Bezeks site and type in different combinations of Hebrew
spellings for this name. Try both Yiddish spelling (ask a friend who
knows Yiddish) Modern Hebrew spellings of what the name might be.
Set the search range for the whole country.

I have done this and located many family members sucessfully.
Plus you get addresses etc.

Behatzlocha!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to locate a relative in
Israel?
This relative is one of my last hopes to find out more about a
family that
we may have in Argentina. He left Leningrad, Russia for Israel
around 1991
and he should be in his late 70s or early 80s now. His name is
Matvei
Isaakovich Luknitskii. Thank you in advance.
