Malow/Malon is currently in Ukraine and what it is called? Any help would
be GREATLY appreciated.
"Malo" is a combining form, meaning small. My 1962 Columbia-Lippincott
Gazeteer has no entry for either Malow or Malon in the Ukraine (although
there is a Malon in Spain). I also looked for a "Malov."
But Chester G. Cohen's "Shtetl Finder Gazetteer" has an entry for a
"Malin," which is west of Kiev and northeast of Zhitomir. However,
checking back with the C-L Gazetteer I see it has no entry for Malin.
Mr. Brown should try the "search this website" box at Jewishgen's main
page and try each of the four spellings (Malin, Malon, Malow, Malov0.
Maybe some more information will turn up. He should also check through
Jewishgen's Discussion Group Archives.
