Regarding your question of the Sephardic prayer book, I have basically the
same question. My grandparents came >from Tetiev, where my father tells me
the style prayer in the shul (as well as the style in the Tetiever shul in
Cleveland where he grew up)seemed to show a Sephardic influence. Further,
the name of the shul in Tetiev seemed to possibly reflect some connection,
as it had the word Sephard in it. I too an curious regarding an explanation
of this.
