I am trying to determine the meaning of the name "GENEL", of my family =
that came >from near Odessa, Ukraine.=A0 I understand that the name may =
have originated as more of a "Ch-anel" than with a hard "G" at the =
beginning, as we now pronounce it in English.=A0 I am trying to see if =
this is the name of a geographic area, a profession, an adjective, =
