I was browsing on the internet for the 1897 Russian Empire Census and
clicked on the eastview.com link. They claim to sell the 1897 Russian
Empire Census on CD-Rom and microfiche. Is this the actual census document
or an index? It was under my impression that you could only get the records

from an archive.
