On line 27 after Oseritzy it says Gub. Minsk, the province that
contained the town. I think the first name on line 26 begins with the
letter A, but it's hard to read the name. Perhaps it's Aisik?

Help, please!

My paternal grandfather was Nachim Funk >from Oseritzy (Azeritz) in
Minsk. I have his immigration papers and the ships manifest, but I
can't make out the critical area of closest friend or relative left
behind. He and my grandmother, Dweire, came over on the Lituania in
Nov. of 1909, port of departure was Libau. They are on lines 26 &
27of the ship's manifest. You can see the information by doing a
search by ship on www.Ellisisland.org. Or you can copy and paste the
following address into your browser.
http://www.ellisisland.org/search/shipmanifest.asp?pID=800043060022&fromShip=y&letter=l&half=1&sname=Lituania&year=1909&sdate=11/30/1909&port=Libau&page=

Here's my problem. Lines 26 & 27, Column 11 lists the name of close
relative or friend still living where they came from. I can make out
Mr. *****Funk, but can't decipher the first name. On the next line
I can see Oseritzy, but can't figure out the remainder of the line.
Can anyone make out the first name and the line below it?? This is
the only window I have been able to open into my family who were still
in Russia when my grandparents left.

Thank you!
