New Data to be acquired #ukraine

Janette Silverman

I have just received word that the following digitized material is
available for us - the only thing standing in the way is funding it. The
material is described below and there are about 10,000 images. We need
$2,800 to pay for this. Of course then we will need to have volunteers
to translate the data or people interested in specific towns to take
charge of projects to raise the funds to hire translators to translate
the data.

I feel like this should be a huge drum role - most of the data (almost
6,600 images) is >from Zhitomir and covers:
Leschchin - births 1863-1882
Ianushpol - births 1865-1874
Zhitomir births 1896-1907 and marriages 1895-1916

The balance of the data is >from various censuses and comes >from the Kiev
archives. I'll send in another message tomorrow with that list of towns.

To help fund this massive acquisition, please make a donation to the
Ukraine SIG Digital Documents and Acquisition project. This is one of
the donation options under the "donate" tab on the Ukraine SIG website -
you can also get there >from the JewishGen website, by clicking on
"donate" and then by choosing "Ukraine SIG" >from "Special JewishGen

We can purchase the data in two parts and must have full funding to make
the purchase. We need $1800 for the Zhitomir records and $1000 for the
balance. If you make a donation, please send me the receipt and when
sufficient funds have been acquired, will make the purchase.
