Re: Question about land travel in Europe in 1920s #ukraine

My grandparents received a family Russian passport in Kherson in early June, 1914 and departed the Russian Empire on June 14, 1914.

On June 30, 1914 they left Hamburg Germany, sailing to Philadelphia.

I would guess they traveled up the Dneipper >from Kherson to Kiev, then by train >from Kiev to Hamburg. They were traveling with two sons under the age of 5, so I'm thinking their mode of travel wasn't all that rough.
