I'm hoping somebody can help me find the origins of my great grandfather Louis GOODMAN in Kiev. He is buried in London, UK and his headstone gives his Hebrew name as Yehudah Lieb son of Meir. He was born in 1865 in Kiev - source British census of 1901. He arrived in London with his wife Rebecca nee SCORAZIN/SUEREZIN approximately 1895 (Rebecca's surname is uncertain and recorded differently on the birth certificates of the children born in London. They had 2 children in Kiev Hyman b1890 and Annie b1892, and 5 more children in London Marks b1896, David b1900, Lena b1902, Barney b1903 and Reuben b1905. The family was deported back to Kiev where Rebecca died she is according to family story buried in Kiev, and Louis married again to Gertie (sorry I don't know anything more about her). By 1909 the family had returned to London, and Louis died in 1909, the children were scattered with three ending up in a school in Kings Lynn UK, and two ending up in an orphanage in South London. The eldest two children were working.
It is possible Louis is related to both Mordechai b1882 and Gershon b1874 GOODMAN also both >from Kiev and resident in London, and a Benjamin GOODMAN b1858 Kiev who went to America.
Any pointers or information gratefully received.
