"Collecting the Docs to Connect the Dots: A Crime Scene Investigator’s quest to obtain the most correct data from media and document sources”

Guest Speaker: Rick Winer

Rick Winer, a retired law enforcement officer with thirty years of service, spent twenty-two years as a Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) and Instructor in Frederick County, Maryland, investigating every type of crime from burglary to quadruple homicides, he has learned to dig deep into evidence in order to get to the truth.

Rick, who was adopted at birth in Washington, DC, began his genealogy quest in 2001 with searching for both his biological and adopted family.  Using his determination honed by years of criminal investigations Rick dove in to a mountain of newspaper articles and documents to learn the truth about both family trees.  He will share the tips and pitfalls that he came across in his trek.
