Hi Milt,

We have been advocating that when you submit your comments to USCIS on th efee increases you copy your US Senators and Representative. The link to find them has been in earlier postings as well as included on the coalition records not revenues website:

Whole hardedly agree that the more who get involved the better!

I wonder if another avenue might pay off: a number of senators and congressional offices have representatives that deal with ‘Constituent Matters.’ They contact Congress and other federal agencies on behalf of their constituent.  Why shouldn’t we dedicated genealogists, who see USIS as a key source of information, yet probably have fixed income, try to contact those representatives, and stress that the increase in fees is highly onerous, unreasonable and does not reflect any justification for such an increase?  Let’s make them aware of the issue.

I have contacted such representatives for other matters (once when I had to deal with the city of Dallas, as a Maryland resident), and found them to be very friendly, usually versed in the law, and willing to contact various agencies in your behalf.
