New Article on IGRA website - "The Jews of Simferopol”

IGRA (Israel Genealogy Research Association) has posted a new article on its website, "The Jews of Simferopol” by Esther (Herschman) Rechtschafner.

In this article, Esther Rechtschafner has given an extensive history of Simferopol (the capital of the Republic of Crimea in the Ukraine), including general history and geography, Jewish history in Simferopol with an emphasis on the 19th and 20th century and a detailed account of the Holocaust there.

Esther Rechtschafner is an audit committee member and a past board member of IGRA. She has written numerous articles on Jewish history and genealogy. Esther is a librarian and archivist on Kibbutz Ein Zurim, Israel.
