Austria-Czech SIG #Austria-Czech Jewish Cemetery in Teplice-Sobedruhy (Soborten) #austria-czech

Julian H. Preisler

Hello:

I have photographs (general views & some tombstones) form the old Jewish Cemetery in
Teplice-Sobedruhy formerly known as Soborten. I am also starting to put together a list of the
known people buried in the cemetery. I have many ancestors and relatives buried in both
Teplice and Sobedruhy. Last fall a fence and gate was erected at the site to protect it and it
was covered in the Czech and German press. The Jewish Community of Dresden was
involved in the project as many Dresdener Jews were buried in Soborten in the 1700's. Let
me know if you wish to have the images. Here are some links to articles on the fence
dedication plus the Sobedruhy page on a new website that is a database of info on Jewish
Communities, past & present in German speaking areas.
