Austria-Czech SIG #Austria-Czech 1848 Szepes Census #austria-czech

Vivian Kahn

I am very pleased to announce that thanks to Karesz Vandor and Peter
Absolon we located and have digital images of pages >from the 1848 Census
for Szepes megye >from the Slovak State Archives in Levoca. This census
has not been filmed by FamilySearch so this will be an important
resource for those who are researching family >from Hunfalva (Huncovce)
and other communities >from this area, where a number of Jews who
emigrated >from Moravia in the 18th century, settled. After the records
have been transcribed we will upload to the JewishGen Hungary database.
If you are willing and able to help, please contact me off-list and I
will send you images and the template.
