I have seen and used the Korn book (on interlibrary loan). It goes back to
the earliest days, and is full of names, with some interesting discussion on
intermarriages and business establishments.

The Early Jews of New Orleans by Dr. Bertram W. Korn who was the
senior rabbi at Reforn Congregation Keneseth Israel in
Philadelphia as well as a professor of American Jewish
History. This book was published in 1969.
