By the way, what is FHL? What kind of documents do they have? Where is itSince my private reply bounced repeatedly and other readers may have
interest in this subject , I am posting the reply through the group.
FHL means Family History Library. FHC is Family History Centre. The Mormon
Church - or Latter Day Saints (LDS) - has over 3,600 FHCs in the world.
Due to religious beliefs, Mormons are very interested in genealogy and have
been collecting microfilmed records of genealogical interest all over the
world for many years. These microfilmed records can be consulted in
microfilm readers at the Family History Centres.
The website for the LDS is www.familysearch.org . I did not check and do not
know if there are centers at your region - you may be dissappointed because
some regions have none. I believe there are none in Israel, for example.
You may check out the Family History Library Catalog at the website. The
Family History Library Catalog (FHLC) is an indexed record of the over two
billion records in the vaults of the Family History Library in Salt Lake
The complete FHLC can be consulted at
You have a link in the resources included in JewishGen to search in the
Jewish Records at the Family History Library. There is a page for the
database of Jewish Records in the Family History Library Catalog. You may
