Carol's point is well taken - but we need a way in which to "have it both
ways" - to be able to be reached AND to protect ourselves >from both SPAM
and
the vicious viruses periodically making their rounds. The current DOOMSDAY
virus is a case in point - my e-mail address is being used to send stuff
to
people unknown to me, and my Internet Service Provider's site is being
used
to send virus infected mail to its clients....My spam blocker stopped 165
spam messages >from reaching me YESTERDAY....and my ISP's antivirus program
stopped a dozen virus infected messages >from reaching me.
So....I think that all of us genners should be contacted - via all the
SIGS, Family Finder, etc., and asked to add some kind of "gen" identifying
item to the subject line when we send e-mails to people who may not
recognize our sender names.
