To those on the list inquiring about Max Kobre and his
bank:

I have been in email contact for some time with Jon, a
great-grandson of Max Kobre.

Jon told me that Max Kobre was in the banking
business and that Max used to sell passage back to
Europe while Max's family used to sell passage to
America.

I will forward the digest to Jon and will post his
reply to the list, if permitted to do so.

Emails >from Jon also confirm that Max did die in 1916.
