Searching for any information about the following family (info >from
the 1850 US Census, Memphis, Tennessee):
F. ALBERT (believe the first name to be Frederic) age 37, born in
France [approx birth year 1813]
Louisa ALBERT, age 36, born in France [1814]
George ALBERT, age 15, born in NY [1835]
John ALBERT, age 13, born in NY [1837]
William ALBERT, age 9, born in Miss [1841]
Louisa ALBERT, age 6, born in Tenn [1844]
Henrietta ALBERT, age 2, born in Tenn [1848]
by the 1860 census, Henrietta is living with a RINGWALD family in
Memphis. I believe I found the father and two oldest sons in Yuba
County, California around 1851 (Gold Rush territory).
I believe I found them in the 1840 census in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
I don't know for sure that this family was Jewish, only that the
youngest daughter Henrietta married Louis GOLDSMITH in Memphis, and
they were married by the Rabbi.
If any of this is familiar to you, or if you have any ideas on
further tracing the father and sons in California, please let me
know. I have searched extensively on the Yuba County GenWeb site and
found them in the voter rolls, and possibly one of them in the
cemetery. I would like to find living descendants of any of these
people. I have EXTENSIVE information on Henrietta's descendants to
share.
