This message is for those of us who use the resources of the Belarus SIG.
My roots are in Belarus and the Belarus SIG is an invaluable tool. Who would
have ever thought that I would be able to get a copies of the
original birth records of my grandmother and her brother >from Minsk?
This would not have been possible without the translation of records from
It is incumbent upon us to heed the message request of David Fox, the past
coordinator of the Belarus SIG who has worked tirelessly behind the
scenes along with many other volunteers in order to make so many databases
available to us on line via JewishGen which we can now access from
the comfort of our homes.
These records cost money and apparently the funds available in the Belarus
SIG are dwindling.
If we all make a commitment to donate even a small amount, perhaps Chai
($18.00), >from time to time, it would help greatly. Since there are so many
of us, we would make a difference and insure that more and more records
would be made available to us.
Please be as generous as you can.
